Founder – Living Waters

Living Waters

John 7:37-38 New King James Version (NKJV)  37 On the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. 38 He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.”

Seasons Greetings mighty men and women of God!  What great pleasure it gives me to be able to share the joy of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in this time of celebration of His Birth.  Donnie Ojemann here, the Emancipated Inmate, to share the joy overflowing in my heart about what Christ has done for all of us.

Our message this month is a fountain springing forth of living waters flowing out to all those who thirst. This fountain I am referring to, is the fountain of live, the very Spirit of God, bringing Eternal Live to all those who believe.

Our core scripture here in John begins with a call, in fact a cry, from Jesus to all who thirst. We know that Christ was not sent to be some waiter to refill our water glasses but is aware of man’s great need and speaking in the spiritual sense. The thirst that Jesus referred to here was birthed in our souls the day sin entered into man in the Garden of Eden. A thirst that cannot be slacked by any earthly placebo, a black hole in our hearts, since our separation from God, desperate in it’s attempts to satisfy the calling deep within and be reunited with our Father God creator. A thirst that the Devil has been exploiting for thousands of years upon mankind, never to be satisfied.

The Enemy of our souls had convinced us that what we need to satisfy that thirst is not our Father’s love, but the devices of sin in the world. Satan offers us pseudo life and joy to distract us from pursuing our Father’s love. This pseudo-love comes in the forms of “Lust of the Flesh” and the “Pride of Life”, such as fornication, drugs, alcohol, pride, greed and many, many more. (Read Romans 13:13-14, Ephesians 2:2-4, 1 Peter 4:1-3, 1 John 2:15-17)

As soon as we discover these things can never satisfy and the thirst always returns leaving us destitute of all self-worth, full of self-loathing and still longing for fulfillment. Only God can fulfill our thirst with His Love.

We’ve chased the substitute for God’s love to places we never intended and wondering how we even got there.  All we have to do is look around us at our current situation and surroundings, a testament to this fact. I don’t believe any of us ever intended to don a prison uniform.

After Jesus “cried out” to all those who thirst, He went on to say, “Let him come unto ME and drink.” Jesus is proclaiming to all those in need that He is here to quench that unquenchable thirst. That He’s got what we need, Salvation and a Living Water that guarantees we will never be lost, desperate or thirst again.

Jesus at the Well

Another example of this message is found in the book of John chapter four. It takes place at the “Well of Jacob” in Samaria where Jesus rested and a woman with an insatiable thirst in her soul came upon the Savior.

Jesus soon reveals how deep her thirst had been and how she had tried to fill her need with five husbands and currently a live-in lover. She knew she was not complete as her heart cried out from the void deep within her to be fulfilled. She had known about God and the coming Messiah (Savior) as she openly admits in verse 25 but had rejected God’s perfect love up to this point in her life.

The void inside kept crying out until our adversary roaming about like a roaring lion heard the call and was all to happy to respond to this heart who had rejected God. He brought his illusions of false love (lust) and ensnared her into an existence filled with death and destruction. How many marriages had this pseudo-love from the devil killed? Five already and was working on killing yet another relationship.

Had the devil’s lies and worldly devices brought life and joy? No, only destruction and her bitterness and self-loathing could be heard clearly in her tone as she mocked Christ at every turn. (John 4: 9, 11, 12 & 20)

The void had only deepened and the pain had only grown as it was fed by rivers of sin and death. She had rejected God and bought the lies of the devil pumping death into every area of her existence.

However and Hallelujah, Jesus is here to answer that deep need within us with the truth and has brought to the threshold of our hearts the only thing that satisfy the thirst within, His living water, the Spirit of God.  All we have to do is let Him in.  Jesus told the Samaritan woman at the well.

John 4:13-14 New King James Version (NKJV)  13 Jesus answered and said to her, “Whoever drinks of this water will thirst again, 14 but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.”

The Spirit of God is life.  A Living Water that not only quenches our thirst forever but fills us to overflowing and sending forth rivers of life-giving water to every area of our lives.  Our relationship with God Himself, our marriages and relationships with our children, parents, family, friends, bosses and even our co-workers multiplying God’s love and producing fruit that glorifies the Father.

The Samaritan woman believed, was saved and those life-giving waters began to satisfy that unquenchable thirst she had all her life.  In fact it completely sated her and filled her to overflowing.  She immediately set out to share the living water flowing out of her with her family, loved ones and countrymen.

John 4:13-14 New King James Version (NKJV) 28 The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, 29 “Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?”

That’s the Power of God’s love … it gets everyone wet around you!

John 7:38King James Version (KJV) 38 He that believeth on me, as the scripture hath said, out of his belly (heart) shall flow rivers of living water. (parenthesis mine)

This refers to all those who believe in Him. Living waters will flow (are flowing) out of our hearts. So don’t let the dams of sin stem the flow of the River of Live, let us obey the will of God in our lives today and let these rivers of life giving waters drench you and your loved ones.

As we celebrate the greatest gift ever given, Salvation through God’s Son Jesus Christ, let us continue to spread the gift to all our family, loved ones, friends and even our enemies by giving the gift that just keeps on giving. Let it fill you to overflowing today to share with others and fill them to overflowing too!

Here at All For HIM Ministries, my beautiful wife Genie and I, along with our staff are bursting with God’s life giving waters and wish you and your loved ones a very Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year of 2015!

Sincerely the Emancipated Inmate & Founder,

Donnie W Ojemann
