Warrior Husband – Prayer, Weapon of a True Warrior

Pray anywhere

Ephesians 6:18 (NIV) And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

As a Warrior Husband I take great pride in covering my wife each and every day with my prayers of protection and prosperity.  I put on my “armor of God” every morning by entering into God’s presence with worship and praise, repentance, thanksgiving and then I go to war for my wife in prayer.  I pray God gives my wife dominion everywhere she goes and favor with all those she comes in contact with.  Dominion and favor at her workplace and in the relationships with her boss and co-workers; blessing in her relationships with her children and her parents, in-laws and friends.  I pray blessings over everything she sets her hand to.  I pray that her “light so shines before the world that they see her good deeds and glorify our Father in Heaven.” (Matthew 5:16)  That she is pleasing God by giving Him glory in all her actions.  I lovingly pray for a “sound mind” ( II Timothy 1:7), focus and peace throughout her day.  My war cries are those of healing for her tendering heart from any hurt that may be there lingering from her past or from her present.  That doors that need closing are closed, locked and sealed and that the doors of opportunity are opened in God’s timing for her. (When’s the last time you held the door open for your wife?)  Most of all I pray that God keeps my bride’s eyes and ears alert so she can see and hear God’s words and plans for her life. That all she does is for God’s purposes in her life.

Being a loving Warrior Husband and head of our marriage comes with great responsibilities!  Not just covering my wife with prayers of protection and prosperity, but being a spirit-led leader in our marriage.

Ephesians 5:23-25 (KJV) “For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.  Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything.  Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;”

Our wives are depending on our leadership!  This is not all about our wives “obeying” us, as we as men are so fond of thinking, but being a proper example and making Godly decisions as a leader!  As the Warrior Husband/leader, I need to know I am leading my wife and I down the road God has prepared for us.  I know the best way to lead my wife is by allowing Jesus to lead me first.  As a Warrior Husband/leader I know I need to be holding Jesus’ guiding hand with one hand and using my other hand to hold and guide my wife.  I can’t think of a better way to show my wife I love her than by walking hand-in-hand down God’s little narrow road right into the Kingdom of Heaven!

I am a Warrior Husband and a leader.

It’s my job…and I love my job!

  1. Like Jesus prayed to his Father, and not to himself, like so many Christians think, we should follow the words of Christ and honour and worship the Only One God,Jehovah.
