Matthew 5: 6 New LivingTranslation (GNT)
God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.
As you might of read, I am home recovering from wounds I received from friendly fire earlier this week. As I eat the Bread of Life, God is strengthening me. As I begin to get out of bed and walk again, I received some new shoes. Now what Warrior Bride doesn’t like new shoes? I am no exception to this little vice, flats, pumps, sandals, tennis, boots, yep I like shoes!
This new pair that God gave me, came when I went back to study about the different types of weapons that God wants me to have in my arsenal. I found out about walking in peace in several passages. So it must be very important to my Father King for his children to walk in peace. Let’s read what His Word has to say:
Isaiah 52:7 (NLT) How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns!
Romans 10:15 (KJV) And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
Romans 16:20 (NLT) The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. May the grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
Ephesians 6:15 (KJV) And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;
Talk about big shoes to fill! Though I love a good pair of kicks, in the past after an injury I did not take the time to learn to walk again. I would get in my Texas Sized Mac Truck or Steam Roller and hit the road – honking my bull horn and daring anyone to come and injure me again in my current condition!
However I am learning a more excellent way, God’s way as a Warrior Bride, child of my Father King. As His princess He wants me to walk in His path, like a lady of high birth, the path of peace.
What exactly does this mean? It means that I can not jump out of bed, don my steel toed shoes, overalls, sword, bow and arrow – get in my Texas sized vehicle that only knows how to flatten things and drive into town and take on the enemy with my own hands. My Father King wants me to stay at home and learn to walk properly in the new Pumps of Peace that He has given me; to walk as a daughter of the King of Kings and Lord of Lords, in peace and love.
I am not to take matters into my own hands and “handle” those who have wounded me. The Lord is my Father King, He will defend me, He will protect me, He will heal me.
Deuteronomy 32:35 (NLT) I will take revenge; I will pay them back. In due time their feet will slip. Their day of disaster will arrive, and their destiny will overtake them.’
Psalm 3:3 (KJV) But thou, O Lord, art a shield for me; my glory, and the lifter up of mine head.
Psalm 18:3 (KJV) I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.
Habakkuk 3:19 (KJV) The Lord God is my strength, and he will make my feet like hinds’ feet, and he will make me to walk upon mine high places…
Romans 12:19 (NLT) Dear friends, never take revenge. Leave that to the righteous anger of God. For the Scriptures say, “I will take revenge; I will pay them back,” says the Lord.
My assignment from my Father King is to walk in His Peace and Love. That is what I am to do as I leave home and return to the battle field. Yes I am a Warrior Bride, but my Father King has a specific assignment for me – a way for me to dress, weapons for me to use, shoes for me to wear and a way for me to walk.
I wanted, no I needed more direction from the Lord, so I dug deeper into His Word to see how His Son Jesus walked in Peace. Since my overall assignment is to be more like Christ, how did Christ walk? I had to know as I was not even sure if these new pair of pumps would even fit my feet!
Matthew 5:9 (NLT) God blesses those who work for peace, for they will be called the children of God.
Matthew 26:63 (KJV) But Jesus held his peace, And the high priest answered and said unto him, I adjure thee by the living God, that thou tell us whether thou be the Christ, the Son of God.
Mark 4:39 (KJV) And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
Mark 5:34 (NLT) And he said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace. Your suffering is over.”
Mark 9:50 (NLT) Salt is good for seasoning. But if it loses its flavor, how do you make it salty again? You must have the qualities of salt among yourselves and live in peace with each other.”
Luke 1:78-79 (NLT) Because of God’s tender mercy, the morning light from heaven is about to break upon us, to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, and to guide us to the path of peace.”
Luke 4:35 (KJV) And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him. And when the devil had thrown him in the midst, he came out of him, and hurt him not.
Luke 24:36 (KJV) And as they thus spake, Jesus himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
John 20:19 (KJV) Then the same day at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Jews, came Jesus and stood in the midst, and saith unto them, Peace be unto you.
I don’t know about you but I am convinced that my Father King has shown me a more excellent to walk. I heard Him, deep in my heart say “My daughter, walk in My love”, but now I saw with my own eyes examples of how His Only Begotton Son walked in peace.
- Jesus walked in peace when being tempted by religious people to “prove” that He was the Son of God.
- Jesus walked in peace in the midst of the storm, then spoke to the storm to be at peace.
- Jesus healed people and then said – Go in peace
- Jesus admonished us to be the salt of the earth we are to live in peace with each other
- When Jesus cast demons out – he told them to hold their peace and depart!
- When Jesus went to visit his friends and loved one’s who abandoned Him in His hour of need – He said “Peace be unto you”
What a Word, What a Revelation. I am encouraged, being wounded I was able to learn a valuable lesson from our Lord. Being wounded I was able to be still long enough to receive my new shoes – Pumps of Peace so that I may share my Father Kings Good News in a more excellent way. When the Lord gifted All For HIM Ministries to my Warrior Husband and I – our core scriptures are Isaiah 61:1-4
Isaiah 61 (NKJV) – The Good News of Salvation
“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, Because the Lord has anointed Me
To preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted,
To proclaim liberty to the captives, And the opening of the prison to those who are bound; 2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the Lord, And the day of vengeance of our God; To comfort all who mourn, 3 To console those who mourn in Zion,
To give them beauty for ashes, The oil of joy for mourning, The garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; That they may be called trees of righteousness, The planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.”
Now I can join my husband back on the battlefield, God has blessed me with proper footwear for our assignment! I will bring good tidings to the poor, heal the brokenhearted, shout freedom to those that are captive, comfort those in mourning and share the joy of the Lord as I worship our Savior in my garments of praise and dance in worship before my Father King in my new Pumps of Peace!
I pray that you don’t have to get wounded like me to receive this awesome gift from our Father King. He has Pumps of Peace for you too my fellow Warrior Brides and Maidens.
